Marvel Comics announces new Avengers lineup following Armageddon event

Marvel Comics is launching a new era of storytelling following the “Avengers: Armageddon” event series. This conflict, involving a battle with Red Hulk in Latveria, will radically transform the Marvel Universe and change how heroes are perceived by the public.

In November, a new volume of “Avengers” will debut, written by Chip Zdarsky with art by Marco Checchetto. The team, described as “Earth’s Mightiest Survivors,” will feature a non-traditional lineup including Spider-Man (Peter Parker), Wolverine (Logan), Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Daredevil (Matt Murdock), and Luke Cage. A sixth member, a completely new hero, is expected to be revealed soon.

The fallout from Armageddon will extend across multiple titles, including “Captain America,” “Amazing Spider-Man,” and “Black Panther/Namor: Doomed.” These stories will explore a post-Armageddon world where characters like Captain America are on the run and J. Jonah Jameson returns to his former ways.
