Marvel Comics announces Star Wars crossover series

Marvel Comics has revealed details for “Star Wars | Marvel: Hope Assembles,” a six-issue crossover miniseries scheduled for release in January 2027. Written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez, the event will integrate Star Wars characters into Marvel’s primary Earth-616 continuity.

The story will reinterpret the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope” within the Marvel Universe, featuring interactions between the Galactic Empire and Marvel heroes like the Avengers. One featured variant cover by Rafael Albuquerque depicts Darth Vader wielding the Infinity Gauntlet.

The announcement coincides with the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise. Marvel has also released its full solicitation list for January 2027, which includes upcoming issues of “Avengers,” “Midnight X-Men,” and “Midnight Fantastic Four.”
