Marvel Comics announces X-Orcists featuring Magik and Madelyne Pryor

Marvel Comics is expanding its X-Men franchise with the upcoming release of 'X-Orcists' #1 on November 18th. The new five-issue series, written by Ashley Allen with art by German Peralta, features an unlikely team-up between the mutant hero Magik (Illyana Rasputin) and the antagonist Madelyne Pryor, known as the Queen of Limbo.

The story focuses on the two characters working together to combat mystical threats that endanger both humans and mutants. Writer Ashley Allen describes the series as an exploration of two powerful, intelligent women shaped by different responses to trauma, noting that the tension in their dynamic arises from how they process their respective experiences with darkness.

The X-Men franchise, originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963, has evolved from its original five teenage members into a massive property involving diverse international rosters and numerous spinoff teams such as X-Force and The New Mutants.
