Marvel Comics introduces horror-themed Midnight Universe

Marvel Comics is expanding its new horror-themed Midnight Universe with upcoming titles including Midnight X-Men and Midnight Fantastic Four. These series reimagine established characters through a darker, horror-driven lens.

Midnight X-Men, written by Jonathan Hickman with art by Matteo Della Fonte, is scheduled to debut on October 7, 2026. The story will utilize a non-linear narrative, moving between the past and present to explore a major failure that changed the team forever. The series will feature the original five mutants, Kitty Pryde, and Colossus, while introducing a conflict between vampires and mutant Empyres in New York City.

Midnight Fantastic Four, written by Benjamin Percy with art by Kev Walker, presents a reimagined version of the team. The plot follows a disgraced Dr. Reed Richards and involves a Sue Storm character described as an Elon Musk-alike. The series explores dark themes and unconventional character dynamics within the new Midnight setting.
