Marvel Comics launches Avengers: Armageddon crossover event

Marvel Comics is launching a new era for its superhero universe through the crossover event ‘Avengers: Armageddon’. Written by Chip Zdarsky, the event is designed to address long-standing narrative gaps left by the original ‘Civil War’ storyline, specifically the unresolved ideological conflict regarding superhuman registration and government oversight.

The fallout from ‘Armageddon’ will lead into a new ‘Avengers’ series by Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto, scheduled for release this November. This new series will feature a roster including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, and Luke Cage. The narrative will depict a transformed Marvel Universe where the Avengers must work to regain public trust following a battle against Red Hulk in Latveria.

The event is expected to impact multiple ongoing titles, including ‘Captain America’, ‘Amazing Spider-Man’, and ‘Black Panther/Namor: Doomed’, creating a distinct ‘pre-Armageddon’ and ‘post-Armageddon’ landscape for the publisher’s characters.
