Marvel Comics prepares new Avengers and Venom storylines
Marvel Comics is preparing a new era for the Avengers, potentially revisiting themes of internal conflict similar to the 'Civil War' storyline. The upcoming miniseries, 'Avengers: Armageddon', establishes a setting where governments question the autonomy of superpowered individuals following an international crisis. This crisis, involving attempts to redirect nuclear arsenals and the subsequent explosion of Red Hulk, has led to increased scrutiny of superheroes by global authorities.
A new Avengers collection, written by Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by Marco Checchetto, is scheduled for release in the United States on November 4. The team will feature characters including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Captain Marvel.
Separately, the 'Venom' series has entered a new stage under writer Charles Soule. The story reunites the symbiote with Eddie Brock, exploring their complex dynamic as they attempt to move past their reputations and be viewed as heroes. The issue features appearances by Spider-Man and Luke Cage.
