Marvel Considers New Punisher Film or Series After Disney+ Special

Director Reinaldo Marcus Green said he wants to turn the Punisher into a full‑length MCU film, building on the recent Disney+ special that featured Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. Green expressed enthusiasm for a global‑scale production and believes the special has proved audience demand for a solo movie.

Industry insiders also report that Marvel Studios is already developing a follow‑up project for the Punisher. The format is undecided – it could be another special, a series, or a theatrical film – and the storyline may draw from the classic "Welcome Back, Frank" comic arc. At the same time, Marvel Television is reportedly searching for writers for a new "Heroes for Hire" series that would link characters such as Luke Cage, Iron Fist and the Punisher, further expanding the MCU’s urban, adult‑oriented corner. The Punisher is also set to appear in the upcoming Spider‑Man film starring Tom Holland, tying the character into broader MCU narratives.
