Marvel releases official watchlist for Avengers: Doomsday

Disney+ has released a recommended watchlist titled “Countdown to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’” to help viewers prepare for the upcoming film. The selection of 15 movies and shows includes franchise staples such as “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame,” as well as “Loki,” “Deadpool & Wolverine,” and “Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Notably, the list includes two Fox-era “X-Men” films, signaling the integration of legacy characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Amidst the buildup to the film, actress Iman Vellani, who portrays Kamala Khan, has sparked debate regarding the franchise's direction. In a recent podcast interview, Vellani suggested that she would “maybe do less team-ups” if given control of the MCU. This stance has divided fans; some argue that reducing team-ups could prevent the franchise from feeling bloated by focusing on individual character arcs, while others contend that large-scale team-ups are a fundamental appeal of the brand.
