Marvel Rivals implements stricter penalties for inactivity and match throwing

NetEase Games has announced updated penalty rules for Marvel Rivals to combat player inactivity, intentional match throwing, and early departures. Effective from the September 17 update, the new system implements progressively harsher matchmaking suspensions for repeat offenders to ensure a more positive gameplay experience.

A significant change involves the Quick Match mode, which now operates under its own independent penalty escalation tier. Previously, Quick Match shared a penalty system with Arcade Mode, but the new structure ensures that punishments in Quick Match are more severe than the previous baseline.

While the developers have not disclosed specific suspension durations or exact violation thresholds, they have stated that players who continue to disrupt matches despite warnings may face even stricter disciplinary actions. To account for technical issues, players who experience genuine network or hardware failures can appeal their penalties through customer support.
