Marvel Rivals released its Season 8.5 update on June 12. The update adds X‑Man Cyclops as a Duelist, featuring ricocheting optic blasts and an ultimate beam that clears the battlefield. A new 18‑v‑18 game mode, Bounty Annihilation, debuts alongside the K’un‑Lun: Shenloong Arena map. The summer festival runs from June 18, offering rewards up to 2,500 Units, new swimsuit costumes, and the Hellfire Bay Beach social hub. NetEase also introduced a third‑party tournament framework for community organizers.

Separate leaks circulating online suggest the next seasons will bring additional Marvel heroes, including Doctor Doom, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, The Hood, Gorr the God Butcher, Blue Marvel and Crescent. One leak posted, “Doctor Doom & someone currently unknown to us!” and another outlined a tentative schedule for Seasons 9‑11, linking Doctor Doom’s arrival to the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film. These rumors remain unconfirmed but indicate a continued rollout of new characters beyond the current season.
