Marvel Rivals Season 9.5 Adds The Hood and Reduces Install Size by Up to 40 GB

Marvel Rivals is set to launch Season 9.5, titled “The Mystery of Thebes,” on August 7 2026. The update introduces a new Vanguard hero, Parker Robbins — known as The Hood — who can switch between human and demonic forms. WWE superstar Damian Priest provides the character’s voice.

The patch also adds a second wave of Swimsuit Special skins, customizable movement and ability animations for Lady Loki, and the return of the Krakoan Reels mini‑game. A major storage optimisation compresses textures, cutting the installed game size by roughly 40 GB on PC and about 15 GB on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no loss of visual fidelity. Because the assets are repackaged, the initial download will be larger, but the final footprint is significantly smaller.

The update will be released worldwide across Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox platforms.
