Marvel Studios advances casting for X-Men reboot

Marvel Studios is reportedly advancing the casting process for its upcoming X-Men reboot. Recent industry reports indicate that Christopher Abbott has emerged as a potential frontrunner for the role of Professor Charles Xavier, following screen tests by other actors including Tom Pelphrey and Bill Skarsgård.

Other casting developments for the new mutant saga include Sadie Sink, who is confirmed to reprise her role as Jean Grey, and Samara Weaving, who is reportedly playing Emma Frost. Kit Connor has also been linked to the role of Scott Summers, also known as Cyclops.

The project, directed by Jake Schreier, is expected to feature a younger team of superheroes. While official details regarding the film's title and release date remain unconfirmed, production is anticipated to begin next year, with a potential release following Avengers: Secret Wars in late 2027.
