Marvel Studios Announces “Avengers: Doomsday” as New Phase Zero Launch

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that Ant‑Man (Scott Lang) will take on an elder‑statesman role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, mentoring newer heroes as the MCU moves beyond the Multiverse Saga. The film is slated for release on December 18, 2026.

At the SXSW event in London, the Russo brothers explained that Avengers: Doomsday will serve as a creative reboot they call “Phase Zero,” resetting the franchise’s direction. They said the movie will feature Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom, alongside a broad roster of characters from across the Marvel multiverse, including the Fantastic Four and X‑Men, indicating a major shift in storytelling for future films.
