Maya Boyd cast as Storm in Marvel Studios X-Men franchise

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has announced that 23-year-old Broadway actress Maya Boyd will portray the character Storm in the upcoming X-Men film franchise. The announcement was made at the D23 event.

Boyd, a graduate of the University of Michigan, will make her big-screen debut in a production scheduled for release in May 2028. This casting follows Disney’s $71.3 billion acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which brought the movie rights for the X-Men to Marvel Studios. Boyd succeeds previous actors who portrayed the character, including Halle Berry and Alexandria Shipp.
