Marvel Studios Announces New Avengers Film Featuring Doctor Doom

Marvel Studios confirmed the production of a new Avengers film, tentatively titled "Doctor Doom" (also referred to as "Doomsday"), slated for a worldwide theatrical release in mid‑December 2026 (December 17‑18). The movie will star Robert Downey Jr. as the villain Doctor Doom, with Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers and a supporting cast that includes Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are back at the helm, describing the project as a reset that will place the MCU "back to phase zero" and will not rely on previous films or series.

The film is expected to feature the Fantastic Four, original X‑Men from the Fox era and other iconic characters, aiming to match the cultural impact of earlier blockbusters such as "Infinity War" and "Endgame". It will open on the same day as the highly anticipated "Dune: Part 3".
