Avengers: Doomsday hits $50M in presales 100 days before release
Marvel Studios' upcoming film, Avengers: Doomsday, has achieved a significant box office milestone by surpassing $50 million in domestic presales approximately 100 days before its scheduled release on December 18, 2026. This achievement was confirmed by Disney CFO Hugh Johnston during the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference.
Demand for the film is heavily driven by premium viewing experiences, with over 70 percent of presale tickets sold for Infinity Vision showtimes. Infinity Vision is a new premium certification introduced by Disney that covers high-quality formats such as Dolby Cinema, Cinemark XD, and Regal RPX.
The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, features Robert Downey Jr. in the role of the antagonist Victor Von Doom. The production is expected to bring together various Marvel Cinematic Universe factions, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Despite the high demand, the film faces potential competition for IMAX screens from the simultaneous release of Dune: Part Three.
