Marvel Studios' Avengers: Secret Wars unlikely to face 2028 delay

Reports regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) suggest that 'Avengers: Secret Wars' is unlikely to be delayed beyond its scheduled December 2027 release. Despite filming not yet having commenced, Marvel insider Alex Perez stated that the chances of the film being pushed to 2028 are “very, very slim.”

The film is expected to serve as the conclusion to Phase Six and the Multiverse Saga. Directed by the Russo Brothers, the project will follow 'Avengers: Doomsday,' which features Robert Downey Jr. returning as Doctor Doom. The storyline is expected to draw inspiration from Jonathan Hickman’s 2015 comic book, involving the creation of Battleworld from collapsing realities.

While official details remain limited, the production is expected to begin soon with an estimated six-month schedule. Speculation regarding the cast suggests the appearance of characters such as Spider-Man, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four.
