Marvel Studios outlines future MCU plans and Phase Seven slate

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has outlined the long-term trajectory of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) following the upcoming releases of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. Speaking at the 2026 Pioneer of the Year event, Feige noted that ‘Doomsday’ represents only the 39th film in the franchise, signaling that many more stories remain to be told.

While ‘Secret Wars’ is set to conclude Phase Six, several projects are already slated for Phase Seven. Confirmed theatrical releases for 2028 include an untitled ‘X-Men’ reboot scheduled for May 5, a ‘Ghost Rider’ film starring Ryan Gosling set for July 28, and ‘Black Panther 3’ arriving on December 15. Other projects currently in development or reported include a ‘Shang-Chi’ sequel, ‘Nova’, and ‘Armor Wars’.

Additionally, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is returning to theaters with newly added footage. These new scenes include a moment where Loki interrupts Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, as well as a new post-credit scene intended to provide context for future MCU developments.
