Marvel Studios reports $16.5 million first‑day pre‑sale for upcoming Avengers: Doctor Doom

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said he was moved when he learned that David Jonsson would take over the Black Panther mantle in the MCU. The casting was confirmed at the San Diego Comic-Con panel, and Feige recalled feeling “goose‑bumps” after a secret meeting between director Ryan Coogler and the studio.

The pre‑sale for the sequel Avengers: Doctor Doom generated US$16.5 million on its first day in the United States, roughly twice the amount recorded for Deadpool & Wolverine during the same period. The strong early demand follows the release of the film’s official trailer and includes heightened interest for screenings in Infinity Vision‑equipped theaters. The movie will see the return of many established MCU characters and introduces Jonsson as the new Black Panther, while Robert Downey Jr. will appear as the villain Doctor Doom.
