Marvel Studios prepares Avengers: Doomsday release and promotional campaigns

Marvel Studios is intensifying its promotional efforts for the upcoming film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, scheduled for theatrical release in December 2026. A new teaser is set to debut during Game 1 of the MLB World Series on FOX, following a short clip shared by MLB that depicts a storm approaching a stadium.

The film features Robert Downey Jr. as the antagonist Doctor Doom and is directed by the Russo brothers. The plot involves a multiversal collision bringing together characters from the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four. Promotional materials have recently surfaced, including posters featuring a diverse lineup of heroes such as Reed Richards, Sam Wilson, and Thor, as well as imagery depicting Doctor Doom’s throne.

In related developments, comic book writer Jonathan Hickman has confirmed he is consulting on the film’s development. Additionally, the video game ‘Marvel Rivals’ is launching a cooperative mode titled ‘Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Endgame’ to coincide with the film's buildup. Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort has begun selling ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ merchandise due to long-standing theme park rights agreements.
