Marvel to launch new X‑Men movie after Avengers Doomsday

Marvel Studios confirmed that a new X‑Men film is planned to follow the upcoming Avengers Doomsday release later this year. Kevin Feige, the studio head, disclosed that the project will be directed by Jake Schreier, known for the Thunderbolts and the first season of Archer. The screenplay will be written by Joanna Calo, Lee Sung Jin and Michael Lesslie. No official cast has been announced, but rumors circulate that actor Charles Melton is being considered for a role, and actress Sophie Thatcher has expressed openness to joining the project.

The film, which currently has no title, is intended to bring the mutant franchise back to cinemas after its recent appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
