Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beta launch hit by PS5 outage and PC performance woes

Arc System Works opened the beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls on July 24‑27, 2026, allowing free testing on PlayStation 5 and PC. The event coincided with a San Diego Comic‑Con reveal of the first Year 1 DLC, Phoenix Cyclops – a version of Scott Summers inspired by the Phoenix Five storyline and voiced by Ray Chase.

Soon after the beta began, the PlayStation Network suffered a massive outage that prevented PS5 users from logging in, matchmaking, and accessing the PlayStation Store, leaving thousands of players unable to try the game for several hours. Sony confirmed they were working to stabilise the service.

Meanwhile, PC players reported severe performance problems, including frame‑rate drops and stuttering. Arc System Works acknowledged the issues, launched an investigation, and shared community‑suggested troubleshooting steps such as shader warm‑up, disabling overlays, and adjusting anti‑cheat settings.

The game will launch worldwide on August 6, 2026 for PS5 and PC, with cross‑play between the two platforms confirmed, though cross‑progression has not yet been announced.
