Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls unveils Phoenix Cyclops DLC and anime‑style opening
Arc System Works announced that Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will launch on August 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC. At San Diego Comic‑Con 2026 the studio revealed the game’s opening movie, animated by Japanese studio Sanzigen and directed by Daisuke Suzuki. The theme song “Stronger as One” features vocals by Keiko Terada (SHOW‑YA) and mayu (NEMOPHILA), lyrics by Kanata Okajima and music by MEG (MEGMETAL).
The panel also introduced the first Year 1 DLC character, Phoenix Cyclops, voiced by Ray Chase. This version draws on the Phoenix Five incarnation from the Avengers vs. X‑Men storyline, combining Cyclops’s signature Optic Blast with the cosmic power of the Phoenix Force. A collaboration with Insomniac Games adds a free Wolverine Battle Reborn suit on September 1, and an Ultimate Edition includes a Spider‑Man 2 suit.
An open beta runs from July 24‑26 2026, allowing players to test 16 of the final 20 characters across multiple modes on PS5 and PC.
