Deutsche Telekom shares fall on SpaceX competition concerns

Deutsche Telekom shares experienced a significant decline, dropping approximately 7.94 percent to 24.70 euros. The sell-off was triggered by news that SpaceX has secured mobile frequencies in the United States. Elon Musk’s aerospace company has received FCC approval to deploy up to 15,000 satellites to provide direct-to-smartphone connectivity, positioning it as a potential competitor to T-Mobile US, a key growth driver for the Deutsche Telekom group.

Despite the stock volatility, the company has outlined long-term strategic goals involving artificial intelligence. Deutsche Telekom aims to achieve gross savings of approximately 2.5 billion euros by 2030 through AI-driven automation in customer service, network operations, software development, and administration. The company also expects its AI-related B2B revenue outside the US to grow from an estimated 250 million euros in 2026 to 800 million euros by 2030.
