Marvell to invest $250 million in India, double workforce

Marvell Technology announced a three‑year, $250 million investment programme in India. The funding will expand the company’s technology, talent and infrastructure capabilities, including a new wing at its Bengaluru campus and additional facilities in Hyderabad. Marvell said the expansion will double its India headcount, taking the workforce from roughly 2,000 engineers to about twice that size.

The Indian sites, which have grown since Marvell entered the market in 2006, now form the company’s second‑largest global R&D organisation. The expanded footprint is intended to support the design and development of advanced semiconductor solutions for artificial‑intelligence, cloud and data‑infrastructure applications. Navin Bishnoi, Marvell’s vice‑president and India country manager, highlighted India’s strategic role in the company’s global innovation network and its importance for serving hyperscale cloud providers.

The move aligns with a broader trend of U.S. technology firms increasing their presence in India to diversify engineering capacity away from China and tap the country’s growing pool of chip‑design talent.
