Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition announced for Nintendo Switch 2

Eidos-Montréal and Marvel Games have announced Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition, a native version of the action-adventure game optimized for the Nintendo Switch 2. Scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, this edition replaces the previous cloud-based version available on the original Nintendo Switch with a native port.

The Encore Edition includes the complete original game and all previously released digital content. New exclusive features include five 1980s glam-rock inspired outfits for the Guardians. Technical enhancements for the Switch 2 include support for gyroscope controls and mouse functionality for menus and aiming.

In TV mode, the game offers two settings: a Quality mode targeting 1440p at 30 fps, and a Performance mode targeting 1080p at 40 fps. Handheld mode targets a stable 30 fps. The announcement, made during a Nintendo Direct, has sparked significant interest among fans, many of whom are using the news to call for a sequel to the title.
