Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Encore Edition to launch on Switch 2

Eidos-Montréal and Marvel Games have announced that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition will release for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The title is a native port of the 2021 action-adventure game, which originally saw commercial performance that fell below the expectations of its then-publisher, Square Enix.

The Encore Edition is designed to leverage the new hardware, offering optimized graphics with resolutions of 1440p at 30fps or 1080p at 40fps. In addition to visual improvements, the release will include a new set of glam rock-inspired costumes for the Guardians team. The game is priced at $39.99.

Separately, actor Chris Pratt has addressed the future of his character, Star-Lord, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pratt confirmed that there are ongoing discussions with Marvel Studios leadership, including Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito, regarding the character's return, stating that “hard action” is being taken to fulfill previous promises of his return.
