Marvel's Nova film to focus on Richard Rider, says Michael Waldron

Screenwriter Michael Waldron has provided insights into the development of a Nova film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). While details remain limited, Waldron’s comments suggest the project will center on the character Richard Rider, the most well-known version of Nova in the comics.

The project has transitioned from being considered a Disney+ series to a feature film. Waldron expressed a strong interest in the character and discussed the potential of using the ‘Annihilation’ saga as a narrative foundation, noting that the character’s long history has made it complex to determine the best starting point for a cinematic adaptation.

In addition to Nova, Waldron discussed his involvement with upcoming Avengers projects, including ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, praising the collaborative efforts of the writing team.
