VisionQuest premieres on Disney+ to conclude Marvel trilogy

Marvel Studios has released VisionQuest on Disney+, serving as the conclusion to the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. The eight-episode series follows the character Vision, portrayed by Paul Bettany, as he struggles with his identity and humanity following his reconstruction.

Set partly in Edinburgh, the story involves Vision navigating a digital Mindscape populated by artificial intelligence personas such as J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., and E.D.I.T.H. A central conflict arises when a bounty is placed on Vision, leading to a confrontation with the mercenary Paladin and a connection to Thomas Shepherd, a young man who may be Vision’s reincarnated son. The series also features the return of the villain Ultron, voiced by James Spader.

Critical reception has been mixed but generally positive, with the series holding an 85% score on Rotten Tomatoes. While some critics praised the emotional depth and the performances of Bettany and Spader, others noted challenges in connecting with the character’s colder, more detached personality compared to previous iterations.
