Marvel’s Wolverine sells 1.9 million copies in three days
Marvel’s Wolverine has achieved strong commercial success despite mixed critical reception and social media scrutiny. According to estimates from Alinea Analytics, the PlayStation 5 exclusive sold approximately 1.9 million copies within its first three days, generating roughly $130 million in revenue. This performance includes about one million digital pre-orders and positions it as a top-performing new PlayStation Studios title for 2026, surpassing the lifetime sales of Death Stranding 2 on the console.
The game has faced various community criticisms, including its linear structure and specific gameplay mechanics. Insomniac Games addressed viral concerns regarding a distorted bathroom sign, clarifying it was a UV mapping texture bug rather than the result of generative artificial intelligence. Additionally, the studio released an update to adjust the visibility of scent-based navigation trails, which had been a point of contention among players.
Geographically, the United States accounts for 53% of the player base, followed by the United Kingdom, France, and Canada. While some critics have noted the game lacks the open-world freedom found in previous Insomniac titles like Spider-Man, the high sales figures suggest strong demand for the character and the studio’s combat systems.
