Marvel's Wolverine game shows brutal gameplay and opens PS5 pre‑order
During Sony's State of Play on 2 June, Insomniac Games presented an extended gameplay trailer for the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine video game on PlayStation 5. The footage highlighted a darker, more violent combat style than previous Marvel titles, featuring intense close‑quarter battles, a "Fury" system, healing factor mechanics and special techniques such as the "Tornado Spin" and "Violent Lunge".
Key story elements include Logan hunting a group of captured mutants across locations such as Madripoor, Canada and Tokyo, with antagonists the cyber‑enhanced Reavers hired by billionaire Bolivar Trask. Supporting characters Jean Grey and the mutant task force Team X appear prominently. The game will launch on 15 September 2026 exclusively for PS5, with a long‑term licensing deal between Sony and Marvel.
Sony opened digital pre‑orders immediately after the showcase. The standard edition is priced at R$ 399.90, while a Digital Deluxe edition costs R$ 455.90 and adds early‑unlock items like the Classic Brown suit, reflective claws, extra technique points and exclusive avatars. Accessibility options for various disabilities will be available at launch. The release timing is positioned two months before the expected launch of Grand Theft Auto VI to avoid market competition.
