Marvila real estate prices triple in Lisbon district
The Marvila district in Lisbon has undergone a significant transformation, evolving from one of the city’s most affordable areas into one of its most expensive. Over the last decade, the price per square meter in the parish has more than tripled.
This shift is characterized by the emergence of new real estate developments, commercial spaces, and cultural centers, particularly near the river. While these changes bring new infrastructure and residents, they have also led to rising costs for long-term inhabitants. Local business owners report substantial increases in commercial rents, and residential rents have also climbed, leading some residents to leave the area due to unaffordability.
