Mary-Anna Asare earns medal with Canada at FIBA 3x3 World Cup

University of Virginia women's basketball player Mary-Anna Asare recently represented Canada at the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup in China. Asare, a transfer from Virginia Commonwealth University, helped Canada secure its first-ever medal at the tournament after falling to the United States in the final.

Asare expressed gratitude for the support of UVA head coach Aaron Roussell, who encouraged her participation despite the potential for missed practices and workouts. Asare is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the School of Education and Human Development.
