Mary Berry discusses family tragedy in podcast interview

Television personality and chef Mary Berry, 91, has shared details regarding a family tragedy involving the death of her son, William. Speaking on the Therapy Works podcast, Berry revealed that her son was killed in a car crash in 1989 at the age of 19.

Berry discussed how she coped with the loss, noting that her daughter was the most impacted by the event. She expressed a focus on raising her two remaining children and reflected on the difficulty of processing such grief, stating she never asked ‘why’ because she believed that was the wrong approach.

In addition to these personal reflections, Berry was recently honored with the BAFTA Fellowship for her contributions to television, a role she is well known for through her work on The Great British Bake Off.
