Mary Gibbs, voice of Boo in Monsters, Inc., turns 30

Mary Gibbs, the voice actress for the character Boo in the Pixar film ‘Monsters, Inc.’, has celebrated her 30th birthday. Gibbs shared a side-by-side comparison of herself at the 2001 film premiere and a more recent photo on Instagram to mark the milestone.

Gibbs originally landed the role by chance when her father, storyboard artist Rob Gibbs, brought her into the studio to assist with animation needs. In addition to her work on ‘Monsters, Inc.’, she also provided the voice for young Riley in the Pixar film ‘Inside Out’.

Having largely stepped away from Hollywood, Gibbs now focuses on massage therapy and holistic wellness. She has also become an advocate for yoga following a 2012 spinal fusion surgery to treat scoliosis.
