Mary Kom debuts on reality show Bigg Boss 20

Legendary Indian boxer Mary Kom has made her reality television debut on the show ‘Bigg Boss 20’. The six-time world champion and Olympic bronze medallist intends to apply the discipline from her sporting career to the competition, though she has already encountered early friction, including a disagreement with singer Qazi Touqeer over bed selection.

Reflecting on her legacy, Mary Kom stated that there can be no “next Mary Kom,” citing a lack of consistent discipline and hunger among upcoming athletes who often settle after achieving initial fame or wealth. While acknowledging the talent of Northeastern boxers such as Jadumani Singh Mandengbam and Lovlina Borgohain, she emphasized that sustained excellence is what distinguishes her career.
