Mary Milben criticizes Zohran Mamdani over radicalism

American singer Mary Milben has criticized New York politician Zohran Mamdani, labeling him a “radical” who is on the “wrong path.” In an interview, Milben argued that Mamdani’s affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) represents a movement that does not align with American democratic ideals.

Milben’s comments were made in response to questions regarding Mamdani’s stance on the upcoming New York visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. Milben suggested that Mamdani’s criticisms were not merely directed at Bhagwat, but were broader attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the concepts of religious freedom that he represents in the Indian context.

While Milben characterized the DSA movement as being against democracy and religious freedom, she also noted that Mamdani is a talented young politician with a bright potential future.
