Mary Peltola and family sustain minor injuries in Alaska car crash

Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola and her family sustained minor injuries on Saturday following a car crash in Alaska. The incident occurred while the family was traveling to the Alaska Federation of Natives’ annual banquet.

According to a campaign statement, another vehicle struck the vehicle transporting Peltola and her family. While the family is reported to be in “good spirits,” medical professionals advised Peltola to reschedule several upcoming campaign events to allow for recovery.

The accident has delayed the “Alaska Always Tour,” an eight-stop campaign push scheduled for the final week before Election Day. Peltola is expected to resume her campaign schedule on Tuesday, starting with a stop in Homer, Alaska.
