Donald Trump’s mental decline flagged by niece Mary Trump as Iran rhetoric escalates
Psychologist and author Mary Trump warned that President Donald Trump’s mental and physical health is deteriorating, describing a “perfect storm” of longstanding, untreated psychiatric disorders. She said his behavior has become increasingly erratic, belligerent and violent, noting that “he’s somebody who has lived for decades with longstanding, undiagnosed, and untreated psychiatric disorders.”
Mary Trump criticized the president’s “completely unhinged” talk about restarting a war with Iran, calling his rhetoric “deeply unnerving.” The issue coincided with a third consecutive day of U.S. strikes against Iran and the administration’s controversial reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and imposition of a toll on shipping. She warned that the president’s impulsivity, swelling ankles, bruised hands and difficulty staying awake signal a serious decline that could have dangerous policy consequences.
The niece urged stronger institutional push‑back, saying the president is “still a terrified little boy” trying to hide his weaknesses, and highlighted the risk that his unchecked behavior may embolden “true believers” to act beyond constitutional limits.
