Punjab chief minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif criticised the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) following the Azad Kashmir assembly elections, calling the party "the master of rigging" and asking on X, "When will the apocalypse be?" She urged PPP leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to accept defeat in Azad Kashmir, focus on addressing Sindh’s problems and improve governance.
PPP senior figure and former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf alleged irregularities in constituency LA‑12 Chadrui, saying polling agents were forced out, armed individuals interfered and fake voting was reported. He demanded an immediate investigation by the Election Commission. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari responded that the state must decide whether national interest or a single party’s interest prevails, asserting that voters in several areas have expressed confidence in PPP and that the party will work to protect the public’s vote.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) also rejected the election’s transparency, issuing a joint statement claiming the process was not free and that the public’s mandate was compromised.
