Maryam Nawaz criticizes Fazal-ur-Rehman over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa politics

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has criticized Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman for his recent political stances, accusing him of supporting those responsible for the destruction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking in Sahiwal, Nawaz expressed disappointment that instead of holding those responsible for corruption and incompetence accountable, Fazal-ur-Rehman has offered support to them. She alleged that certain political actors provided resources and shelter to terrorists, leading to the loss of lives and resources in the province over the last 13 years.

Nawaz also commented on the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing the PTI government's tenure as the first instance of a long march resulting in a government effectively ending its own rule.

Regarding provincial governance, the Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives in Punjab, including the distribution of electric bikes, merit-based scholarships, and the establishment of Artificial Intelligence laboratories. She emphasized her administration's commitment to meritocracy, noting that appointments for Vice Chancellors and principals are made through rigorous interview processes to eliminate favoritism.
