Maryam Nawaz Sharif launches electric bus routes in Gujranwala

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched two new electric bus routes in Gujranwala, connecting Chan da Qila to Lohianwala and Khiali to Jinnah/Nandipur. Once the necessary infrastructure is fully established, a total of 74 electric buses are expected to operate within the city.

During an inspection of the Gujranwala Mass Transit Corridor Project, the Chief Minister reviewed progress on tunnels, underpasses, and road infrastructure. She directed authorities to ensure the project is completed by March, noting the difficulties residents have faced due to prolonged construction delays.

Additionally, the Chief Minister visited the proposed site for the Maryam Nawaz Institute of Cardiology. The planned 268-bed facility will include an emergency department, intensive care units, and advanced medical technology such as 3-Tesla MRI machines, ultra-fast CT scanners, and modular operation theatres.
