Maryam Yektaei joins Esteghlal Women's football team

Maryam Yektaei, the 33-year-old goalkeeper for the Iranian national women's football team, has officially joined Esteghlal Women. Yektaei brings significant international experience to the club, having previously played in the Turkish Super League for teams including Beşiktaş, Fatih Karagümrük, Amed, and Bilgi Spor. Her tenure at Beşiktaş included participation in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Esteghlal Women is preparing for its first professional season in the Iranian Women's Premier League. The club has been active in the transfer market, recently adding several players such as Hajer Dabaghi, Roghayeh Jalal-Nasab, and Fatemeh Makhdoumi.

Maryam Iraandoust, the newly appointed head coach of Esteghlal Women, stated that her primary objective is to implement structural improvements and foster an ethical environment within the team. Iraandoust noted the high expectations from the club's large fanbase, observing that supporters view the men's and women's teams with equal passion.
