Maryland football Penn State field hockey Penn State volleyball college athletics Big Ten

Maryland athletics face several key matchups across multiple sports. In football, Maryland head coach Michael Locksley prepares for a highly anticipated game against Virginia Tech, led by coach James Franklin. The two coaches, who worked together at Maryland from 2000 to 2002, are moving past a previous verbal altercation as they prepare for the rivalry week contest.

In field hockey, the No. 5 ranked Maryland Terrapins travel to face Penn State. Maryland enters the matchup with an unblemished 6-0 record, while Penn State holds a 3-2 record. Maryland currently holds a three-game winning streak in the series against the Nittany Lions.

In women's volleyball, No. 9 Penn State is set to host Villanova at Rec Hall. This marks the first meeting between the two programs in 11 years. Penn State holds a perfect 15-0 series record against Villanova and has never lost a set to the Wildcats in their history.
