Maryland approves $4.6 million for Montgomery County park projects
The Maryland Board of Public Works has approved $4.6 million in grants to fund various park projects in Montgomery County. These funds are designated for accessibility improvements, new playground equipment, and the construction of restroom and concession facilities.
Specific projects include a $950,000 allocation for Wheaton Regional Park to renovate a one-mile trail for disability access. Other Montgomery County initiatives include playground upgrades at Salem United Methodist Church Community Playground and Community Center Park, as well as new facilities at Stevens Park in Poolesville.
