Maryland Charm win inaugural Women’s Lacrosse League championship

The Maryland Charm secured the inaugural Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL) championship with a 16-13 victory over the California Palms at Subaru Park near Philadelphia.

Sydni Black was named MVP after scoring four goals. The Charm offense was supported by hat tricks from both Cassidy Spilis and Alex Holman, while Ashley Humphrey contributed four assists. Defensively, the Charm relied on strong performances from goalkeepers Caylee Waters and Jenika Cuocco, who combined for 17 saves.

For the California Palms, Taylor Moreno recorded 15 saves, and Anna Brandt led the scoring with four goals. Despite the loss, the Palms sought to avenge a regular-season overtime defeat to the Charm.
