Maryland high school football rankings released for 2026 season

The 2026 Maryland high school football season has commenced, beginning with private school competition. Saint Frances Academy maintains its No. 1 ranking in the state following a 49-35 victory over DeLand (Fla.).

DeMatha Catholic, ranked No. 2, moved into the national rankings after defeating No. 3 Archbishop Spalding 35-14. Archbishop Spalding currently holds the No. 3 spot in the state rankings. Other top-ranked teams include Our Lady of Good Counsel and McDonogh School.

Saint Mary’s Ryken dropped from No. 9 to No. 15 following a loss to McCallie School in Tennessee, while Saint Mary’s holds the No. 8 position ahead of its matchup against Broadneck.
