Maryland housing officials to discuss policy and federal legislation

Maryland housing officials and local leaders are scheduled to hold discussions regarding housing policy and federal legislation in early September.

In Easton, Maryland Secretary of Housing and Community Development Jake Day will speak at a program on September 4. As a senior advisor to Governor Wes Moore, Day oversees the state’s housing finance agency, which manages over $7 billion in assets. His presentation will address Maryland’s efforts to combat rising housing costs, expand affordable housing, and promote economic development.

In Baltimore, a forum hosted by City Council Member Odette Ramos will take place on September 2 to examine the impact of federal housing legislation, specifically the federal ROAD to Housing Act. The event will feature representatives from the National Association of Counties, the National League of Cities, and Enterprise Community Partners to discuss how federal decisions influence local housing supply and affordability.
