Maryland men's basketball looks to improve under Buzz Williams

Following a 12-21 debut season, Maryland head coach Buzz Williams aims to lead the Terrapins toward improvement. Williams previously experienced a similar start at Virginia Tech before achieving four consecutive 20-win seasons.

The roster features key returning players such as Pharrel Payne, who averaged 17.5 points and 7.2 rebounds before an injury, and guard Andre Mills. The team also welcomes top-10 recruit Baba Oladotun and a top-20 ranked incoming class that includes transfers DJ Wagner, Mike McNair, and Robert Jennings II.

Maryland's upcoming schedule includes matchups against Bucknell, Georgetown, Virginia, and Tennessee. The team will also face No. 3 ranked Illinois in January and visit Michigan in March. On February 13, the program will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its 2002 national championship with a game against Indiana.
