Maryland men’s soccer defeats Ohio State 1-0

No. 11 Maryland men’s soccer secured a 1-0 victory over Ohio State at Ludwig Field on Saturday night. The decisive goal was scored in the 51st minute by fifth-year captain Albi Ndrenika, marking his third goal of the season and breaking an eight-game scoring drought.

The scoring play developed after a stoppage in play following a foul on Henry Bernstein. Ndrenika took advantage of the pause, passing to Lilian Fichelle, who returned the ball to Ndrenika to allow for a low shot past Ohio State goalkeeper Patrick McLaughlin.

Maryland recorded 21 shots during the match, including 10 on goal. Despite a strong performance by the Terps' defense and goalkeeper Laurin Mack, Ohio State maintained pressure throughout the game, though they were unable to convert their opportunities.
